Mohd Jufry Yusoff and his wife run Wak Long Music & Art Centre since 2015 that produces and sells traditional wayang kulit puppets as part of their mission in educating the public in traditional Malay culture and heritage. With more than 30 years of experience in puppetry making and performance, Mohd Jufry is one of the few puppeteers in Penang whose skills have been handed down by generations. The traditional puppet characters are made out of cured goatskin and portrait a variety of characters such as Sri Rama, Hanuman, Rawana, Sri Dewi, and Pohon Beringin, to name a few. Since 1983, he has been a cultural artist with the Universiti Sains Malaysia. Between 1985 to 2017, he was an instructor for Wayang Kulit Kelantan and at the USM School of the Arts.
