Esther Geh is a botanical artist, painting in watercolour, and occasionally in acrylic, though she is still exploring different media and subjects.
Estherwas born in Penang but lived a large part of her life overseas, largely in Singapore and England. She has always loved drawing, but her career choice as a doctor, specializing in Anaesthesia, and starting a family, made it hard to find the time for art until she returned to Penang in 2005.With the help of some friends,Estherset up The ArtESpace (TAES), an open studio facility in 2012.
Since thenEstherhas exhibited nationally and internationally, including with The Society of Botanical Artists' annual exhibition in 2016, Georgetown Festival 2017 & 2018, and Open StudiosPenang 2019. She participated in "Belang"
in 2020, and her piece is now part of the Penang State Art Gallery's permanent collection. She was also part of "Boxed In", an exhibition at Hin Bus Depot, Penang in December 2020.
In 2018, she illustrated The Habitat Colouring Book which is available for sale at The Habitat gift shop and at TAES.
Currently,Esther's artwork is part of the collections of The Art and Garden, Viva Victoria, Heap Seng at 29, Art Lane, Penang Hill Lower Station, Penang State Art Gallery, and in private collections internationally.
